April Showers

Here in my part of Alberta, April showers mean ‘snow’ showers but as the days slowly get longer, the temperatures are rising and the snow is melting. We’ve never seen a traditional ‘rain shower April’ in all the years I’ve lived here but somehow it manages to segue into summer somewhere in May.

I’ve been working on new projects that I can’t wait to share with you! April is National Poetry Month, and poetry is my favourite thing to write. I’m building a new collection that I hope to release later on this year. I can share the title which is “the warmth of the sun in winter” and you’ll see snippets of included poems and prose over the next few months in my newsletter and social media posts.

As some of you know, I have two new granddaughters who were born last fall. They, along with their sister and brother, have been keeping me and Poppa quite busy hopping between the west coast and home. It’s been wonderful sharing time with these littles and their parents over the past few months. I’m still figuring out how to schedule my writing time (baby cuddles always come first!) so please bear with me while I muddle my way through.

In the meantime, for those of you who are local, there is a Big J colouring contest running from April 13 to May 1 in collaboration with Homegrown Foods and Heartheld Photography.. There will be three prizes on May 2. See my upcoming posts and website for more information.

Enjoy the sunshine whenever you can!

Happy reading!

Xo Lynn
